Couples' Devotional Bible

i recently bought a couples' devotional Bible and it's pretty cool because it has marriage related devotionals that correspond to a daily reading. I just wanted to share one of the devotionals that really impacted me recently. It was written by a woman named Ruth Ann Polston; she has been married for 50 years and lives in Indy, like me. The scripture is Psalm 62: 1-12 and the author shares a bit of wisdom she learned from this verse that I can really relate to. She writes:

" St. Augustine prayed,' Thou hast formed us for thyself, and our hearts are restless till they find rest in Thee.' After my husband and I moved from one state to another, I began to see that my restlessness was the "part" longing for the "whole." My mistake was that I was looking for home in places other than God. The soul is at rest with God. Not with a particular city, a church, a house, friends or even family. The Psalmist found the secret. He once said,' my soul finds rest in God alone...' ( Psalm 62:1). To commit myself to other allegiances is to make myself vulnerable to the pain of change. Our lives are like airport concourses, filled with arrivals and departures. But God abides. We need not worry that we'll leave him in some cherished place we're moving away from. He's always there waiting for us at the next stop."

Let me just say, I wept when I read this because it rings so true and thinking in this way has really helped me a lot!
