Early Thanksgiving

My parents and,I think, my grandma are coming to our house this weekend for sort of an early Thanksgiving. They will be our first house guests and I am so excited to have them here for the weekend! We will, most likely, be hosting the Thanksgiving Day festivities for Chris's side of the family so we won't be seeing my family for the actual holiday( although we will probably go down for part of that weekend so my mom and I can put their tree up) so they are coming this weekend for a little pre-holiday celebration!

Happy Weekend, Everyone! I hope you all get to relax and have some fun:)

Back again, with big news!

Hey everybody, I'm back....again, and this time I have BIG news!

First-WE BOUGHT A HOUSE! Yep, yesterday, november 10, we signed the papers and bought Chris's grandpa's house. We officially closed on the house yesterday but we actually moved in on holloween day and the move went really smoothly. My mom came up and brought their van and we all packed our cars and Chris's freind rented a pickup truck and all in all it only took us a couple trips. The really amazing thing is we were unpacked and everything was put away by the next day( thanks Mom)! I love living in a house again. Our apartment was cozy and a great starter place for us but I love having space to move. The best part is we have a table and a breakfast nook thing and two fully furnished guest rooms so we can have a lot of people over!

Last but NOT least- We have decided to start trying to have a baby!! I am so excited.

Welcome to year two!

August 19th was our two year wedding anniversary! I cannot believe it has been two years, I mean, I can hardly believe that I'm old enough to be married for two years! It was a great day. I maid a new dress to go out in and we went to this cute place called Rick's Boatyard Cafe'. We got to sit outside by the water and Chris kept throwing down potatoe chips so that cute little birds would come near. He got me a bouquet of roses called Dark Lulus and, since two years is the cotton anniversary, I got him a tee shirt of the many emotions of Chuck Norris, which is like nine shots of Chuck Norris with the same expression that say different emotions. He thought it was hilarious. That was our day; welcome to day 732 of my life as Mrs. Gaizat!

Sad News

Chris called me at work today and told me that his dad called and said his grandpa died Teusday night. In a way it was unexpected because he was doing so well. When we visited him the day after he had all his feeling and range of motion back and was to be released this week but then he had another stroke. Thank you for all your prayers, they were appreciated and still are!

Prayers Needed

Chris's grandpa had a stroke last night. He is able to move relatively normally but he has slurred speach and he doesn't feel pain on his left side. The doctors aren't letting him eat until tomorrow when a speach therapist can evaluate him and make sure he is able to swallow properly. We have each had a grandparent die of a stroke so we are a little worried. We are happy that he seems to be stable but we would appreciate all of your prayers!

My Day Off!

I'm so excited today because it is my day off! From time to time my work will schedual people off but pretty much every time they schedual me off they will come find me like an hour before I leave the day before and ask me if I can actually come in. I have been sort of frustrated by that in the past but today, as I enjoy my day off, those past disapointments just make this day that much sweeter!

I did it!

I am so happy right now because I just submitted my first assignment and it went through on the first try! What a relief, now I can sleep without a knot in my stomach. I know, I'm a baby but I was actually really worried that I wouldn't know how to send the homework because of a previous experience with an online class. That sucked but this is awesome because it worked!

Back to School

Chris and I are both going back to school... sort of. He is studying to get like ten different programing certifications and I start online cources to get my early childhood developent certification on Monday. The great thing is, since I'm doing this through my job, if I get a passing grade the company will completely reemberce me! I wasn't too keen on the idea of us both being in school at first but I'm getting there; when were done we will have a lot more options available to us. For now though we'll just take things one day at a time and, as always, prayers are appreciated!

My Honey is 30!

Today is my husband's 30th birthday! For the last month or so my SIL and I have been planning a surprise party for our guys and and last night was the big night. We rented out this place called The Cinema Grill( where we got engaged) , its like a theater and a restaurant in one. If you rent the place out for a party you can have them play any film you want so we had them play The Count of Monte Cristo and we made Marde Gras masks for all the guests and decorated with fake gold dabloons and Marde Gras beads. Instead of cake we had cupcakes with chocolate coins in them. We had all their best friends there and, of course, the family and we all ate and talked and watched the movie but the best part was that they were totally surprised! Happy Birthday, Honey, I love you!

Oh, the drama!

Once again, it has been a while since I last blogged, the reason: I have had a fever for about three weeks and have not felt like doing anyhting except sleep. Thankfuly I am feeling much better now so I can tell all about the other bits of drama that went on. Drama the first: Chris called me on my lunch break( this was like the week before Easter) and told me that he was being let go from his job. He is the IT director at a company that services and details private jets and the owner of the company, having some trouble collecting payments form some jet owners, freaked out and decided that he needed to cut some jobs. Being that the owner works in a different hanger than Chris and doesn't know much about computers, he didn't really know what Chris did and, so, decided that he didn't do anything and decided to let him go. However, we didn't freak out, we just prayed, he sent out about ten resume's and then his boss that is directly over him pleaded his case and told the owner how much they really needed him. He actually said that he would take a paycut to keep Chris on, that's how much they need him! So, the next day, Chris gave me the good news that he was not being let go. Crisis averted, God is good!
P.s. stay tuned for Drama the second:)

Couples' Devotional Bible

i recently bought a couples' devotional Bible and it's pretty cool because it has marriage related devotionals that correspond to a daily reading. I just wanted to share one of the devotionals that really impacted me recently. It was written by a woman named Ruth Ann Polston; she has been married for 50 years and lives in Indy, like me. The scripture is Psalm 62: 1-12 and the author shares a bit of wisdom she learned from this verse that I can really relate to. She writes:

" St. Augustine prayed,' Thou hast formed us for thyself, and our hearts are restless till they find rest in Thee.' After my husband and I moved from one state to another, I began to see that my restlessness was the "part" longing for the "whole." My mistake was that I was looking for home in places other than God. The soul is at rest with God. Not with a particular city, a church, a house, friends or even family. The Psalmist found the secret. He once said,' my soul finds rest in God alone...' ( Psalm 62:1). To commit myself to other allegiances is to make myself vulnerable to the pain of change. Our lives are like airport concourses, filled with arrivals and departures. But God abides. We need not worry that we'll leave him in some cherished place we're moving away from. He's always there waiting for us at the next stop."

Let me just say, I wept when I read this because it rings so true and thinking in this way has really helped me a lot!

First blog of the new year

So, January is almost over and I am just now posting my New Year's blog. The reason being that I have been sick pretty much continuously since the weekend before Christmas and haven't felt like getting on my computer. The most exciting thing I've done since the year started was be a bridesmaid in my friend Shari's wedding on the 5Th. It was a beautiful wedding and she was a beautiful bride. She wore the dress her grandmother was married in in 1947 and she looked just like a 40's Hollywood starlet. I love weddings and being in the wedding of one of my best friends is so special plus, having more married friends is pretty awesome! Speaking of weddings, lastnight I made a new reciepe and decided that it would be a nice occasion for us to drink the bottle of sparkling grapejuice leftover from our wedding, you know, before it started to ferment;) Both the food and juice turned out to be pretty good and we had a nice relaxing evening!
