- When he does something that I think is wierd or irritating; instead of getting mad, I should just think about what he just did and see what I can learn from him. After all, as my partner in marriage, my weaknesses are often his strengths and visa-versa.
- Specific to our marriage, I have learned that my husband just wants me to listen when he tells me about a problem he is having. At first, I would try to calm his fears or share a similar experiance that I had in an effort to help him feel he was not alone but that just made him feel I wasn't really listening, so now I just listen and maybe ask there's anything I can do to help.
On a more superficial yet very exciting note, we begin our second year with pictures! My parents came for our anniversary weekend and gave us our wedding album as our gift. It is so amazing! It's got a mat-finish, black leather binding and the photographs are actually printed on the paper in a collage-type layout. For those of you who don't know, my dad is a professional photographer and he took all our wedding pictures( well, except for the ones he was in, of course) and designed our album, which is why it is such an amazing and meaningful gift.
