deep thoughts by Bram Stoker

I am currently reading Bram Stoker's " Dracula" and have found it to be, in my opinion, the most wonderful book of it's era that I have read thus far. Much of the book is made up of the journal/ diary entries of it's various characters and here is where the "deep thoughts" come in. One of the main characters, Mina Harker, is writing of the benefits of keeping a journal and confides to herself: "I am anxious, and it sooths me to express myself here; it is like whispering to one's self and listening at the same time." Ah, so profound! When I read this I had one of those "lightbulb" moments and I think I even got a little misty because I think that this is such a beautiful sentiment. I am very much in agreement with this sentiment,as well, and that is really how I feel about this blog. I am a fairly quiet person but my mind is always running and I really do make myself anxious with all my thoughts. Because of this, I really need some sort of outlet and, besides prayer, I have found that writing my thoughts down and sorting them out is the best way to sooth my anxious thoughts, discover what I am really feeling and/or what is really troubling me and then decide what I need to do, if anything.

That is one of the things I absolutely love about blogging...I can jot down my thoughts!
